Writing A Song

Thinking about writing a song. Working maybe 5 minutes each day on it. Doing a top down approach, making it not very overwhelming. Maybe you guys should write a song too.

Today I’m going to do literally nothing besides decide the basic form. For instance, verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus or something like that.

I like longer songs, but I don’t plan on having this show in the basic form. The song will end up lengthened by using extended versions of each section to add room for cadences to set up new sections. I.e. A verse that is usually 16 bars might be 18 bars only when it precedes a chorus.

So basically I can pick anything at random and it’ll probably work out fine, so here goes:

Verse-verse-chorus

Verse-verse-chorus

Bridge-chorus-chorus

Verse-chorus

bridge-chorus-chorus

Outro

A little longer than I intended at first but whatever. Step one complete.
